All about HO scale model trains

What is an HO scale model train?

HO scale is a scale used in model railroading and corresponds to 1:87 in Europe and 1:87.1 in North America. It is the most used scale in the world. It is derived from the "O scale" because it stands for Half-O (half scale 0).
The reproduction of the normal HO scale track is standardized to a reduced gauge of 16.5 mm.
There is also a 00 (Double Zero) variant often associated with HO, which remains a British peculiarity, standardized by the NMRA12. It is a reproduction of the standard gauge track at 1:76.2 scale, running on 16.5 mm gauge track for ease of use. The British models in 00 are very close to those in HO. The model gauge, faithfully reproducing the standard gauge track would be 19.1 mm gauge.

What choice to make for your model train ?
